Construction Resources in Uganda

Last updated:

These construction resources for Uganda answer the questions owners ask before they build: what a house costs, how the process works, what approvals are needed and how to choose a contractor. Every article is written by Eng. Derrick Bwanika Kakeeto, a civil engineer, and links to the services and quote page when you are ready to talk about your own project.

How to use these resources

Start with construction costs in Uganda if you are setting a budget, and with the building guides if you are planning the steps, the approvals or the contract. Costs explain what drives the price and how to get a reliable bill of quantities; guides explain how to build, in order.

For a price on your own project, request a quote. To see what we build, browse our construction services in Uganda and our projects.

Costs

Building cost guides for Uganda explain what a house or other building costs to build, and why two quotes for the same plan can differ. Each guide covers one decision: the cost of a house, a 3- or 4-bedroom home, the cost per square metre, and what drives construction costs across building types. We do not publish a price without drawings, because a figure without a design misleads. Instead, these guides show you how a builder arrives at a price, what to put in your brief, and how to read the bill of quantities (BOQ) you receive. They are written by our civil engineer and reviewed against the way we price our own projects. When you are ready for a number, send us your drawings for an itemised quote.
